Finance Lease
Customers are normally allowed to offset 100% of lease payments against taxable profits, providing the equipment is financed over a "realistic" working life.
Hire Purchase
Customers receive writing down allowances in accordance with government guidelines. For most machinery this is currently 40% of the cost in the first year and 25% (on a reducing balance basis) thereafter. NB Some equipment will receive 100% in one year.
